Encrypted before the cloud receives it
The Windows client encrypts backup contents before uploading repository objects. Backblaze provides the object-storage infrastructure, while the customer-controlled vault material remains part of SaveState’s client-side encryption boundary.
SaveState uses account-scoped repository prefixes and short-lived storage credentials. Customer repositories are not exposed through a public bucket URL.
Storage region and service boundary
Encrypted backup contents use Backblaze B2’s EU Central region in Amsterdam. SaveState’s privacy notice and data-processing terms describe the roles of SaveState and its subprocessors; the product does not imply that an infrastructure provider replaces SaveState’s own responsibilities.
